My Profile
Me in a suit.
I grew up in the middle of nowhere in the great San Joaquin Valley. After high school, I had the pleasure of being employed by the U.S. Army, where I served as a Military Policeman in Saigon during the conflict in Viet Nam.
In order to get out of the Army early after a stint of 21 months and 6 days, I agreed to enroll in college. With the help of the good ol' G.I. Bill, I graduated from Cal State University, Bakersfield. After graduation, I was hired by Exxon Oil Company.
I worked for ExxonMobil for 30 years before retiring in 2007. During that time, I worked in Los Angeles, Bakersfield, Ventura, Santa Barbara, Texas, and Equatorial Guinea, West Africa.
I received my law degree in 1999. I graduated with honors, and passed the California State Bar on the first attempt. I was sworn in as an attorney in 2000.
I also have a Class B California Contractor's license. I've worked in property development, property management, housing renovation, and new home construction.
